Before you select your microwave solution, Sun Microwave will conduct a site survey to determine your project needs.
Typical actions performed during a microwave survey include:
- Establish Line of Site (LOS)
- Collect GPS Coordinates
- Establish Antenna Mount Locations and Type
- Determine Antenna Transmit Heights
- Assess Cable Distances and Building Entry
- Evaluate Power Availability
- Establish Grounding Availability
- Determine Network Connection Type and Location
- Ensure Rack Mount or Equipment Space Availability
- Perform RF Spectrum Analysis
After conducting a detailed on-site survey, Sun Wireless provides the customer with a customized formal report.
Reports typically contain:
- Theoretical availability calculations for the paths based upon the suggested radios, antennas sizes, cable lengths, frequency and regional rain rate rainfall tables
- Vertical profiles for each link depicting the topographic changes along each link including Fresnel zone and reflective path
- Recommended bandwidths for all paths plus upgrade and expansion options. For non-LOS applications the anticipated amount of available bandwidth will also be calculated
- Network map
- Digital photos of all sites
- A budgetary quotation for the network predicated upon the data compiled from the study
The final report is provided as a written document augmented with a CD.
